I was a professional classical vocalist before I became a therapist, and I work mostly with artists, performers, and creatives.
Many of the people I see have found real footing in their work. What brings them to therapy usually isn't the art itself, but a sense that something underneath it has gone unattended: questions about who they are and what they want, and patterns that keep repeating no matter how much they pour into their work.
I practice in two registers. One is existential: identity, meaning, and where you fit in the world, the questions that can get louder, not quieter, once you've gotten some of what you thought you wanted. The other is psychodynamic: the way the past lives in the present, the early relationships and experiences that still shape how you love, work, and see yourself. Alongside these, I also frequently draw on somatics and energy work.
I hold a Bachelor's and Master's in music and an MSW from Columbia. I see individuals and couples, including many queer and trans clients, and people exploring nontraditional relationship structures.
